The Evangelism and Nurture Committee

The Evangelism and Nurture committee has the responsibility for establishing programs and activities for spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ in Honduras and responding to the physical and spiritual needs of the communities served. The committee, in collaboration with Foundation leaders in Honduras, will propose programs and activities annually for the Board’s review and input, to ensure that programs and activities are aligned with the established goals and objectives of the Foundation.

Historically, HAF has:

• Initiated and sponsored evangelical events which included youth retreats for five local churches; vacation Bible schools in four neighboring villages; Bible story time with local kindergartens; home visitation with gifts of beans and rice with Gospel literature; and church fellowship through many hours of worship.
• Experienced the joy of witnessing the baptism of 37 local youth; the wedding of an elderly couple who had been living together for 35+ years; many come to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior; and the development of long term, deep relationships between missionaries and local Honduran families.

Plans for the summer mission teams include:

• Single day events featuring the Salvation Bracelet in numerous locations
• Biblical skits preformed by team members during each team’s meeting with the Agape Promise youth
• Dispersion of evangelical literature during the medical treatments planned
• Worshipping with local groups
• Giving beans and rice, and “Making Peace with God” by Billy Graham
• Playing Duck , Duck, Goose
• Loving the people of Honduras just as Christ first loved us
